DIRECTOR, WRITER : Robert Kolodny
Director Robert Kolodny has been making films for the past eleven years. Kolodny has received widespread acclaim for his short films. Directing credits include Getting Woody, Man in the Box, Metropolitan Debach, The Crooked Symphony, an untitled short for Funny or Die, Shelter, and The Americans. Kolodny’s most recent works were an award-winning experimental short and a music video for up-and-coming New York band, Theodore Grimm. He was the recipient of the 2010 National Board of Review’s Human Spirit Award, as well as Audience Choice Film, Best Art Direction, and Best Film Overall at the 2010 Manalapan Film Festival.
In addition to acting as a writer/director, Kolodny is a freelance editor for celebrated artist  Cecilia Vicuna. LAND OF NOD is his first feature. Currently in Brooklyn, Kolodny graduated from the School of VISUAL ARTS with a BFA in Film and Video in 2010.

PRODUCER: Bennett Elliott
Bennett Elliott first collaborated with Robert Kolodny on The Crooked Symphony as Producer in the fall of 2009. They have worked together ever since. Elliott’s producing credits include specs for Gatorade, music videos for Theodore Grimm, Britney Houston, Backstabbers Inc, and Quincy Mumford, and shorts Depravity, American Hero, and an untitled project for Funny or Die. Elliott’s most recent projects were the thesis films Dot (for which she won the William C. Arkell scholarship from SVA, as well as the NYWIFT New Wave scholarship) and Shelter. Currently in Brooklyn, Elliott graduated from the School of VISUAL ARTS with a BFA in Film and Video in 2010.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY: David Lang
Cinematographer David Lang has been painting with light since first arriving at the School of Visual Arts in 2006. His past DP credits include Fearless, Everyone in High School Smokes,  Anubis, American Hero, and The Crooked Symphony, as well as music videos for True2Life and as a creative media partner with renowned men’s stylist, John Allen. Currently in Manhattan, Lang graduated from the School of VISUAL ARTS with a BFA in Film and Video in 2010.

ASSISTANT CAMERA: Christopher Cazavilan
Cinematographer Christopher Cazivillan has worked on dozens of independent films in a variety of positions, from camera to electric. In the winter of 2009, he was the cinematographer for Frank De Jesus’s WWII Comedy. His previous credits include work as a gaffer and assistant camera on The Crooked Symphony. Currently in Brooklyn, Cazavilan graduated from the School of VISUAL ARTS with a BFA in Film and Video in 2010.

2ND A.C.: Suren Karapetyan
Camera Boy Wonder Suren Karapetyan is a cinematographer. His previous DP credits include work on The Crooked Symphony, Drainer, The Inn Keeper, Wishing, Well, American Hero, Dot, Shelter and an untitled short for Funny Or Die. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2012 (Film).

GAFFER: Donavon de Cesare
Donavon de Cesare is a cinematographer. His previous DP credits include work on The Crooked Symphony, Drainer, The Inn Keeper, Wishing, Well, American Hero, Dot, Shelter and an untitled short for Funny Or Die. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2012 (Film).

G & E: Dan Derby
This is Dan Derby’s first project with Kolodny/Elliott. He is currently located in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2010 (BFA Film and Video).

G & E: Rahill Ashruff
This is Rahill Ashruff’s first project with Kolodny/Elliott. He is currently located in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2011 (Film and Video).

G & E: Justin van Wie
Justin van Wie is a cinematographer, gaffer, and cameraman. Recent DP credits include Dot, Shelter, Voynich, Panuelo, and Shadows of Harmony. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2010 (BFA Film and Video).

MIXER: Gil Raitses
Sound recorder Gil Raitses has trained under Academy Award winning soundman Christopher Newman.  Recent projects include a project documenting his travels through South America in the winter of 2009. His previous sound credits include work on The Crooked Symphony. Currently in Park Slope, Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2011 (Film and Video).

BOOM: Ed Herrera
This is Ed Herrera’s first project with Kolodny/Elliott. He is currently located in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2011 (Film and Video).

PRODUCTION DESIGNER/ HMU: Michelle Labriola
Production Designer and Wardrobe Coordinator Michelle Labriola has worked extensively in film and music videos. Her most recent production design credirs have been on the films Dot, Shelter, The Closed Door, and GABES FILMS. Prior to working as a production designer, Labriola has a background in photography. Her work can be viewed at www.michellelabriola.com. Currently in Brooklyn, graduated SVA Class of 2010 (Photography).

ADDITIONAL ART DEPT/ STILLS: Elizabeth Ribuffo
Elizabeth is a New York City based photographer originally from Northport, NY. She currently attends the School of Visual Arts as part of the BFA photography class of 2010. In addition to her portraits and still photography work, Ribuffo has captured production stills for thesis films Contrition, Prologue, and The Wounded and the Slain. Her work can be seen at www.elizabethribuffo.com. Currently in Long Island, graduated in the SVA Class of 2010 (Photography).

ADDITIONAL ART DEPT: George Heintz
George Heintz is a performance artist, sculptor, and painter, as well as a certified chef. His passions include creating and cooking, often working with mixed mediums to achieve a final piece. Heintz has been showcased in severa lNYC exhibitions, and his work will be featured at the annual Fine Arts Critique at the School of Visual Arts.  Currently in Brooklyn, Heintz graduated in the SVA Class of 2010 (Fine Arts).

SFX MAKE-UP: Evan Klemuk
Special Effects Make-Up artist Evan Klemuk is also an animator by trade. He currently works as an assistant instructor for an advanced prosthetics make-up course at the School of Visual Arts. His previous make-up credits include extensive prosthetic work on The Crooked Symphony, as well as thesis films Dot and Shelter. Currently in Brooklyn, Klemuk graduated in the SVA Class of 2010 (BFA Animation).

EDITOR: Robert Kolodny and Mike Leuis
Robert Kolodny is the writer and director of LAND OF NOD. His partnership with Mike Leuis as co-editor on this film is their first collaboration. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2010 (BFA Film and Video).

Mike Leuis is an established editor and musician, working in music videos, commercials, and film. His previous editing works include music videos for Britney Houston. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2010 (Film).

CATERING: George Heintz
George Heintz is a performance artist, sculptor, and painter, as well as a certified chef. His passions include creating and cooking, often working with mixed mediums to achieve a final piece. Heintz provided catering for the cast and crew of Land of Nod. Currently in Brooklyn, SVA Class of 2010 (BFA Fine Arts).

GRAPHIC DESIGN: Joe Hollier
Joe Hollier was the graphic designer on LAND OF NOD, creating the revolutionary pamphlets and posters seen in the film. In addition to NOD, Joe Hollier’s  credits include    work as a freelance designer for Stylus Apparel, art direction for Ultimate Image Printing, an artist for Subculture Skateshop, and a Web/IT Intern at Alloy Media and Marketing. Hollier’s design work crosses and mixes mediums such as  film, photography, drawing, painting, and textile/patternmaking. His work can be seen at www.joehollierdesign.com.
